Subject: Parent Meeting Topic Points.
1) First of all welcome all parents to our third parent meeting. Our meeting tonight will focus on the following topics.
2) Sign in- Check your data. Address, phone, and email account for accuracy. We can’t communicate unless it is accurate. We are having e-mails bounce back to us. Please e-mail us with any changes to your contact info.
3) Cadet Pictures- Available for viewing.
a) Review names for correctness.
b) Address and prices are on the brochure for your consideration. Mail to the photography agency, not JROTC or BCHS.
4) Calendars have been passed out to show events for the remaining of this year through school year 2010.
5) Reminder- Wednesday is uniform day. Your son and or daughter should be coming to school with the uniform worn properly. Males shaved, females hair up. Students are coming to class not prepared and they must stay in uniform all day to include to and from school.
6) South Carolina drill, raider, exhibition, & color guard meet November 13th-15th.Need chaperones for this trip, any help is much appreciated.
7) November 11th is our Veteran’s Day ceremony- Please come to our ceremony.
8) State raider meet is on the 4th – 6th of December.
9) December 12th Manatee High School Raider meet for our newer cadets. December 4th through 6th- is the state raider meet hosted at the Camp Flaming Arrow vicinity in Lake Wales.
10) Fundraising-
a) Cheesecake Sale was a huge success. Profit for JROTC was $6,500.
b) Entertainment Book Sale- Still ongoing. 20 each and they have some good values.
c) Upcoming Fundraisers - Fun Run & Donut Sale
d) Toys for Tots is on December 19th.
e) Recycling- Need your laser, ink jet cartridges, hard back bound books need business contacts that will be collected and I will pick up
11) Essay’s due- February 1st Topic: JROTC builds character & leadership. There is a specific format which has been provided to all cadets. Rewards savings bonds to 1-3 place winners.
12) Needs-
a) Your feedback about your son or daughter, and if we are making a difference.
b) We need your presence at meets and your support, whether we win or lose. It is an opportunity to see your child compete.
c) All seniors graduating should now know what they are doing beyond high school. Those who want scholarships should be applying now. ROTC scholarship application deadline is December ’09.
13) Water, snacks, recyclables from above, We also need 4 large telephone type poles, auger bit and tractor to emplace, concrete mix for holes.
14) Chaperones- Must be registered by school, and all are welcome for any and everything we do.
15) Sticky notes on door on the way out with your comments or expectations from Mike and I.
